A proper pH-value is essential for water treatment. The pH-value is also called (degree of) acidity. This value is very important because certain chemical processes only take place under a certain pH-value. For swimming pool water a pH-value of between 7.2 and 7.6 is the best.
By using a Pool Power test set you can determine the pH-value. Adjust the pH-value with either pH minus or pH plus to get the right result. Creating the right pH-value is the first step to safe and bright sparkling swimming pool water. One should check the pH-value on a regular basis and if necessary it needs to be adjusted. As soon as the pH-value reached the right level the water treatment can start.

To calculate the content of your pool, you must first choose the type of pool. Make your choice
If you know the water content of your pool choose then having it on your bath apply volume of water. If you do not know the contents then calculate in the module above the contents of your pool.

The tabel below gives you an idea about how many disinfection tabs you should dose after the first filling. Please keep in mind not to throw the tabs directly into the water. Use the floater device or dissolve the tablets in water before adding to the pool.
How much chlorine dosing the first time?
If the pool is filled for the first time:
3 tablets
Then:
Keep chlorine content of between 2 and 5 mg/l
If the pool is filled for the first time:

Water treatment for small pools up to 5000 liters
After achieving the right pH-value the water should be disinfected. For these types of pools we have developed a mini tablet, called Pool Power Mini Quick.
Keeping the right level of chlorine is very simple to achieve by dosing this tablet. Every Mini Quick tablet gives 1,5 g of active chlorine per m³ (=1,000 liter). To keep your swimming pool water in the right condition you need the following products:
- Pool Power Mini Quick disinfection tabs
- Pool Power pH Minus (sometimes even pH Plus)
- Pool Power Anti-algae
- Test set to measure active chlorine and the pH-value
How much chlorine to be dosed the first time?
The first dosage per m³ should be 3 tabs (= 4,5mg/l active chlorine). After three days one can start the normal maintainance. The chlorine level will not be stable since the chlorine does its job in the water and looses power. How much chlorine will be used fully depends on the circumstances. The following factors play an important role:
- Temperature (the warmer the more chlorine will be used)
- Bathing load (how much pollution comes into the water)
- Ultraviolet radiation (UV) from sunlight
It is impossible to indicate what the daily dosage of chlorine would be. It depends on the above mentioned circumstances. The chlorine level should be between 2 and 5 ppm (=mg/l). Regularly checking the chlorine level and adding chlorine to keep it between 2 and 5 ppm needs to be done. Every Pool Power Mini Quick tab gives 1,5 g active chlorine per m³ (=1,000 liter).
Algae control
For different reasons algae growth in the pool can occur. Often you will see the algae as a green layer after a rain shower. Also other coloured algae excists. Pool Power Anti-algae prevents and removes algae.
Important: Do not overdose. Please stick to the dosing instructions as an overdose creates various problems. These kind of chemicals are to be compared to medication. You do not overdose medicines either.
In case algae growth already appears first give the pool a shock treatment with Pool Power Mini Quick.

Pool Power Mini Quick, fast-dissolving disinfectant tablets for continuous disinfection.
Never directly in the pool! First, in a glass or measuring cup and then spread evenly over the surface. The Miniquick tablets can also be done in a dosage float.
5,000-30,000 liters
Swimming pool with filter system: Pool Power Mini slow-dissolving disinfectant tablets of 20 grams that provide continuous disinfection.
The required number of tablets dosed through the skimmer. 1 tablet per 2,500 liters.
